Description

A luxurious chain hotel with 230 rooms near the airport terminals is The Leonardo Hotel London Heathrow Airport. Its spacious rooms feature triple-paned windows, and some offer views of the runway; however, the bathrooms are somewhat dated, and some are located far from the lobby. The hotel features a 24-hour restaurant, a pleasant cocktail bar, 24-hour room service, a small fitness center, and an elegant spa. Long-stay parking is available. Comparing rates with the Premier Inn Heathrow Airport, which has more modern bathrooms, may be advisable for guests.

Leonardo Hotel London Review

  • Description

The stunning Leonardo Royal London St. Paul’s raises the bar for luxury and elegance with its sophisticated fusion of contemporary design and modern flair.

The Leonardo Royal London St. Paul’s is ideally situated in the heart of the City’s financial district and within walking distance of London’s renowned West End, making it an ideal venue for any visit to the capital.

A spectacular glass atrium houses an unrivaled selection of restaurants and bars, while deluxe bedrooms and suites offer the utmost in understated elegance and luxury.

  • Scene

The hotel’s mismatched interiors include a garish lobby, but the restaurant and bar are elegant.

The exterior of Leonardo, a modern brick building with plenty of darkened glass, lacks personality, but the interior is a different story.

The lobby features a black-and-white striped floor, leather armchairs, and a faux fireplace. And it plays up its name with Leonardo Di Vinci paintings on the splashback behind the long gray front desk and pink LED lighting that feels excessive. However, the overall effect is garish rather than artistic.

The hallways are more subdued; they feature gray walls with framed prints, purple carpets with brown patterned runners, and large windows that let in an abundance of natural light.

The spacious restaurant is also pleasant, with contemporary neutral seating, London-themed prints, and a contemporary gray carpet with a pattern. In addition, the bar features chic cream leather tub chairs in a refined setting.

  • Location

The hotel is located five minutes from the airport terminals and fifteen minutes by train from central London.

The Leonardo is located adjacent to Heathrow Airport and is five minutes by car or eight minutes by bus from the terminal. On a busy road, the hotel has a relatively secluded location, with nearby office buildings and large hotels.

However, there are pubs, a grocery store, and gas stations within walking distance. The Stockley Park is an eight-minute drive or a 27-minute bus ride away, and the Bedfont Lakes Business Park is a 16-minute drive or a 38-minute bus ride.

Thorpe Park is 11 minutes away by car, whereas Legoland and Chessington World of Adventures is 17 minutes and 28 minutes away, respectively.

Kew Gardens and Windsor Castle are approximately 16 minutes by car from the hotel, while Hampton Court Palace is approximately 24 minutes by car or one hour by public transportation.

In 15 minutes, the nonstop Heathrow Express train service reaches Paddington station in central London from the airport. Gatwick Airport is approximately 40 minutes by car from the hotel, and London City Airport is approximately one hour by taxi.

  • Rooms

The hotel has modern rooms, some with views of the runway, but no safes

The 230 rooms at the Leonardo are spacious, modern, and cozy. Large, comfortable beds with contemporary headboards. Elegant lamps adorn the built-in nightstands, and the attractive gray-patterned carpet complements the walls and sofas.

The rooms have large built-in desks, but the windows are disappointingly small. The Standard Double and Triple Rooms are identical, with the exception that the Triple Room has three single beds and is smaller.

In Executive Rooms, sofas are replaced with single armchairs. The spacious bathrooms feature off-white walls and floor tiling, built-in vanities, and shower/tub combinations with fixed showerheads. Individual toiletries are provided, and some rooms offer views of the airport runway while others overlook a tree-lined street.

All rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with small flat-screen televisions, phones, hairdryers, irons, and ironing boards, as well as coffee- and tea-making facilities, but lack safes (a safety deposit box is available at the front desk).

Only Executive Rooms contain mini-refrigerators. In addition to trouser presses, bathrobes, slippers, and bathroom scales, Executive Rooms feature trouser presses, bathrobes, and slippers.

The rooms are quiet due to the triple-glazed windows, but some rooms are located far from the lobby, and guests have reported maintenance and cleaning issues.

  • Features

The hotel has a restaurant and bar, as well as 24-hour room service and complimentary breakfast. There is also a small fitness center and a spa.

The Leonardo provides a variety of amenities, including a restaurant with 24-hour room service and a contemporary bar with a small but attractive outdoor terrace. Guests give the breakfast buffet, which is included in some room rates, high marks.

The gym has free weights, weight-lifting machines, and cardio machines, but it is small, as is the spa. Guests have access to a computer with a printer, and Wi-Fi is complimentary throughout the hotel.

The eleven meeting rooms accommodate a maximum of 130 guests. The garage in the hotel’s basement offers long-stay parking for a fee, as well as parking packages.
